COVID Update

We follow Ontario Ministry of Health directives and the recommendations of Infection Prevention and Control at UHN.

In clinic appointments are available at Toronto General Hospital, and at Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital within the ALPHA Health clinic.

Virtual care through online video is available.

In clinic appointments

We continue to provide in clinic new patient assessments and follow up visits.

What to expect at your in clinic appointment:

Please self-screen for symptoms of illness before coming to your appointment.

At Toronto General Hospital: Use the Elizabeth Street or University Avenue entrance to access the hospital.

At Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital: Use the Ambulatory Care entrance to access the building.

Masks are not required in most areas of the hospital. Medical masks are optional and available if you wish to wear one.

Your physiotherapist will wear a mask at your request. Equipment and high touch surfaces are cleaned and disinfected before and after each patient.

Visitor policy at UHN & Bridgepoint: Companions or family members may accompany you to your appointment. Anyone accompanying you must self-screen for symptoms of illness. They may be asked to show proof of vaccination.

If you have had any of the following symptoms in the past 10 days, please contact us to reschedule your in clinic appointment or to switch to a virtual appointment:

  • Fever

  • Chills

  • Unexplained headaches

  • Eye pain or pink eye (conjunctivitis)

  • Decrease or loss of sense of taste or smell

  • Runny nose or stuffy nose without known cause 

  • Sore throat

  • Difficulty swallowing

  • Difficulty breathing

  • Shortness of breath

  • New or worsening cough

  • Nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain

  • Unexplained fatigue, malaise, muscle aches

If you have symptoms, you should self-isolate and complete a self-assessment

If you have had a positive COVID test in the past 10 days, please contact us to reschedule your in clinic appointment or switch to a virtual appointment.

If you have travelled outside of Canada in the past 14 days and have been directed to self-isolate, please contact us to reschedule your in clinic appointment or switch to a virtual appointment.
