Symptoms of vestibular disorders in children

  • Vertigo - this is often a feeling of spinning

  • A feeling of motion like rocking, swaying, or being on a boat

  • Loss of balance - particularly losing balance during activities that other kids of the same age have no trouble performing

  • Seeing things moving or bouncing

  • Blurry vision during head/body movements

  • Motion sensitivity (e.g. symptoms with head or body movements)

  • Sensitivity to seeing movement in the environment - visual motion sensitivity

  • Symptoms can lead to delayed motor development and avoiding activities
